“You are Here” by thenewno2

Album: You Are Here
Artist: thenewno2

You Are Here is a lethargic mixture of electronica and rock. The album chugs along rather slowly, and despite it’s 50 minute run time it begins to overstay its welcome before the first half of the album is over. The atmosphere remains mostly the same, and some songs sound exactly like others. Towards the end of the album the tracks introduce some new flavor. Unfortunately this means very little when it sounds like they ran out of ideas by the third track.

You Are Here sounds like a collection of unpolished Radiohead tracks at it’s most electronic side. And when it brings the guitars forward it has a very generic, by the numbers feel. The tracks may serve well as background music for a TV show, but hardly hold their own as an album. There are a few tracks worth listening to, but the overall package is quite disappointing.

You Are Here is available in stores now, and has been available on iTunes since last year.
